Miami, FL (November 25, 2024) – As technology continues to transform the ways in which we live, learn and work, Albizu University, known worldwide for its multicultural post-graduate higher education in Psychology and other human services fields, has launched its first Bachelor of Science in Cyberpsychology degree with classes beginning in January 2025. To date, Albizu is the only university in Florida that offers this undergraduate program, which is available only as an online degree.

The program’s courses cover contemporary topics in Cyberpsychology, such as telehealth, cyber forensic psychology, video games, social networks, cybersecurity, virtual reality and artificial intelligence (AI). Students will learn to apply their knowledge of General Psychology, Cyberpsychology, and Computer Science and Technology to practical areas of Cyberpsychology, such as how people interact with each other through technology, how technologies enhance people’s lives, and how people’s behavior and emotions can be influenced by technology.

“As an institution that takes pride in being one of the leaders in multicultural higher education for aspiring Psychologists, we feel very honored to be the first university that offers this undergraduate program in our home state,” said Dr. Eli Fennell, Program Coordinator of the Bachelor of Science in Cyberpsychology program at Albizu University. “This program aligns with the growing trend of prospective students pursuing degrees related to technology. Cyberpsychology is an ideal choice for high school graduates, digital natives, and anyone who wants to advance their career prospects. We encourage transfer students, students with associate degrees, and adult learners to apply and explore new career opportunities they might not have thought of before, such as marketing research, consulting, education, private enterprise, and other fields, once they graduate,” added Dr. Fennell.

Students are required to complete 120 credits over the course of three years to complete the program, which includes administrative support and offers various resources to its students, such as personal counseling, tutoring, student support services, and individualized advisement.

“Albizu University is committed to staying in the leading edge of education and our main goal is to provide opportunities for students in the most relevant subject areas related to the field of psychology,” said Albizu University President Dr. Nelson E. Soto. “Students who graduate from Albizu University’s innovative new Cyberpsychology undergraduate program will gain a competitive edge. This cutting-edge program equips students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape, opening doors to a wide range of professional opportunities.”
