Albizu University in Miami has announced that mental health professionals and supervised doctoral trainee clinicians are available through the Albizu Clinic to provide free brief post-disaster psychological interventions, emotional support, coping strategies, and referrals for ongoing mental health care for anyone experiencing distress, grief, anxiety, or uncertainty following the earthquakes in Venezuela.
“As a University that proudly serves a large Venezuelan population, we stand in solidarity with the people of Venezuela and with our students, patients, alumni, and community members whose loved ones have been affected by the devastating tragedy,” Dr. Andel V. Nicasio, Clinic Director of the Albizu Clinic, said in a statement. “Our faculty and supervised doctoral trainee clinicians are here to provide emotional support, practical coping strategies, and a sense of community during this difficult time.”
