Each year on November 11th, the United States sets a day apart to honor our service people and pay our respects through observance of this day. Veterans day was established as a day to reflect upon the heroism of individuals who have died in service to our nation and was originally called Armistice Day, the anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended World War I. In 1954, Armistice Day was changed to Veterans Day to account for all veterans who have served in wars.
