Ben McNamee, Inc., 501(c)3 Non-Profit Corporation…at Albizu University during the No to Hazing Campaign! hosted by Albizu’s Deans of Student Affairs, Dr. Sharrie R. Dean, Miami, and Carmen Rivera Laboy, Puerto Rico. Ben donated his book No Hazing! No Bullying! The Ben McNamee Story, wrist bands, hats, t-shirts, and other items to students here and in Puerto Rico. He recorded the podcast for AU, sharing among inciteful information, that within a room of students and participants, 47% of them will have experienced some form of Level I (subdued hazing/bullying), Level II (harassment hazing/bullying), and/or Level III (intense hazing/bullying); and that at any level, hazing is illegal. Mr. McNamee also spoke of Albizu’s Hazing Policy (which includes his Ten-Step Collaborative No Hazing/No Bullying Protocol); the Florida Statute, and Federal Law, all against hazing. He then addressed the dangers, perils and the unintended consequences of hazing, that many times lead to severe injury, and moreover unfortunate deaths…and one death is too many!
