Title V PPOHA Graduate Fellowship

Application

The application will close June 9th.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

  • Fellowships are available only to applicants enrolled in a graduate program with a GPA of 3.25 or above.
  • To maintain eligibility to receive the fellowship, applicants must continue to meet the academic requirements and demonstrate satisfactory academic progress as outlined in the Albizu University Academic Catalog.
  • All applicants must be eligible for financial aid and have completed a FAFSA for the academic year 2023-24.

WHAT MATERIALS DO I NEED TO APPLY?

  • Your anticipated Fall 2023 schedule
  • Graduate school transcripts
  • Two (2) faculty recommendations: click here
  • A 500-word essay over the following topic:
  • Describe a time when you overcame a challenge. Explain how receiving the fellowship will help you overcome a current challenge in your life.
  • Your name and any other identifying information cannot be in the essay

WHERE DO I FIND THE APPLICATION?

  • The application will be here on this website
  • The online application goes live on May 1, 2023

HOW ARE FELLOWSHIPS SCORED?

  • A panel of three (3) faculty/staff review the fellowship essays (with no names) and grade it based on a rubric
  • The essays are 60% of your total score
  • Faculty recommendations are added and averaged
  • The recommendations are 35% of your total score
  • GPA is scored based on a rubric
  • GPA is 5% of your total score

OTHER FAQ

  • How many times can I receive this fellowship?
  • This fellowship will be available until 2024. You can apply each year as long as you are enrolled and meet the eligibility criteria.
  • What are the stipulations of the fellowship?
  • To be considered you must submit the completed application with all required attachments. If you receive the fellowship, you must complete the entire Fall 2023 semester.
